What Makes America Special

I've been to a lot of countries. Let me tell you why America is cool.

Because it has states like California, Arizona, different places all in one country. Like deserts and forests, and lots of other places. And also it has nice cities, like New York which I've never been to, and Hollywood, which I've been to in California. And the only interesting place there is the Italian Ice store with the lemon ice.

In America I visited icy states like Wisconsin and Minnesota. I like them because they have lots of lakes that you can go boating on, and in the winter you have to walk out on them because it's icy. In the winter, the ice is about two feet deep, and if you want to go fishing in the winter, you have to get a big chainsaw so that you can cut a whole in the ice, get a stick, some string, and a worm, and a hook too. And then you just throw all those in there and catch a fish. Eventually.

America also has a capital which is very close to where live. Washington DC has fancy cars, like Maseratis, Rolls Royces, and Mercedes E and S class. It also has lots of Porsches and a couple Astin Martins. Washington DC is also where they make laws and where the government is. There's also a state government in Richmond. The capital is where they make laws, like freedom of speeches, freedom of religion, freedom of language, and jobs too.

And so there are lots of people here, including Chinese, African, Mexicans, English, Japanese, Scottish, Indians, and Eskimos. There's lots of different kind of music here, and some of it was invented in America like bluegrass, jazz, hip-hop and rock. And we also have some different kinds of food that were invented in America, like a cheeseburger, fried chicken, meatballs (without any sauce please!), and brownies. And pancakes too.

I've been to a lot of countries. I like America the best because I live there.

Catching Crawdads

The other day we went crawdad hunting, and we found about, um, lets say, twenty-five. We had them for lunch that day. The only problem is that my dad stopped looking at the boiler, and it overboiled, but they turned red. Bright red.

They were a bit tasty, but my dad said we should only eat the tail. If you looked at their face, it was kind of creepy. You should try eating them sometime, their quite tasty, but it's difficult to get the meat out their tail and all that stuff.

You're Pitiful

Weird Al Yankovic
You're Pitiful

My life is brilliant...

What, was I too early? Oh, sorry. Should I...Do you wanna start over? Or, keep going?
Okay, now? Now?

My life is brilliant
Your life's a joke
You're just pathetic
You're always broke

Your homemade Star Trek uniform
really ain't impressin' me
You're sufferin' from delusions of
Adequicy

You're Pitiful (X3) It's true

Never had a date
That ya couldn't inflate
And ya smell repulsive too
What a bummer bein' you

Well ya just can't dance
And forget romance
Everybody you know still calls ya
Farty Pants
:
But you always have a job well I mean

As long as you still can work that slurpie machine

You're Pitiful (X3) It's true

You're half undressed
Eatin' chips of your chest
While you're playin' Halo 2
No one's classier than you

Lalala la
Lalala la
Lalala la Loser

You're Pitiful (X3) It's true

Your dog would much rather
Play fetch by itself

You still live with your Mom and you're 42

Guess you'll never grow a clue
When it just sucks to be you

Field Trip to Blandy Farms

Today I went to Blandy Farms. It's the state Arboretum. What I really liked about it was the dissecting a bean and the long trails. Our bus ride there was very long.

This is a picture from when I was on the bus. I got a little bored. I asked my mom for the camera. One of my classmates was turning around, and so I decided to take a picture of his buttocks.

That was on the bus ride when we just left the school. I decided to take a picture of the scenery because I thought it looked nice.

This is a picture of the sky and some power lines. It's like halfway to the arboretum or something.

This is a picture of Donnell, the same person that I got his buttocks. He looks kind of like an emotional lotion commercial model.

That is a picture of my friend Zach while we are at the State Arboretum. I am not really sure what he is supposed to look like, but it looks like he is kind of chillin' out, even though it is chilly outside.

That is a picture of me looking at a bud of a buttercup.

That is a picture of a very red flower that I cannot recognize. My dad calls it a poppy.

That is a class photo when we are just about to leave the State Arboretum.

The sky was beautiful that day, so I took a picture of it. It's just a gorgeous photo.

Here is Reagan sitting across the aisle from my seat. And so, I think she looks kind of like a vampire. Or something.

That is a picture of my friend Nick who I was sitting next to on the way home from the State Arboretum. That is probably one of my best taken photos because it is very hard to get a good picture of Mr. H. over there.

Andrew's Pump It Up Party

My friend Andrew is now nine years old. For his party it went to Pump It Up. My stamp that let me in is still barely there (on my hand). If it's still there, maybe I could sneak in. Here are some photos from the party.

Memories of Sedona

Luke's "What I Did on Spring Break" essay:

The little shop that Luke wrote about was located off the main street, just outside of town, set beautifully against the backdrop of the Sedona hills.

Dogs That I Drew

These are some dogs that I drew. The purple one is supposed to be a dachshund. And the Chihuahua looking one is a Chihuahua. The Labrador Retriever looking one is a Labrador Retriever named Sheba. And the German Shepherd looking one is a German Shepherd named Lomax. These are the pictures that I drew. I hope you enjoy them.

Have a Farting Holiday

Here is the Christmas gift to Dad. This is the Fartmaster keychain. The fart noises are 'standard', 'nervous', 'power', 'ripper', 'cough-fart', and my favorite, the 'wet'.

Snowbob Junior

This has got to be the smallest snowman ever. I gave him cranberry eyes and a carrot for a nose. The snowman's name is Snowbob Junior. I tried to get my brother to make one, but he just didn't feel like making one. So it wouldn't be a snowman family, it's just a single snowman.

The Amazing Game of Cribbage

This is my first game of cribbage. We started it yesterday on November 30. Today is December 1st and we were continuing our game of cribbage. My dad was just behind the skunking line when I got 14 points, and I only needed 9 to win this round, and so I won two rounds since I skunked him!

Cribbage is a game where you have to depend on your luck, and you also have to know math to play it. You're always adding up your points to see how many holes you get to go into. You also get points when you can add your cards up to 15 or 31, or if you have a run or a flush or a pair.

In the pictures, I am the white and my dad is the red.

More Slime

Today I made Thermo-chromic slime with Grandpa. Today is the day that Grandpa leaves so I made the slime that looked the best. Thermo-chromic slime is a slime that is heat-sensitive and will change color from dark purple to light red when it gets a little warmer from when it's cold.

Slime Time

Tio Adolfo and Uncle Chuck were here for Thanksgiving and they both gave and my brother our Christmas presents early. I got a pair of socks with a moose on the front; my brother got the same thing except for that it was a bear on the front of the socks.

And then, I got those two slime kits and my brother got Pacman World III for his DS.

Here's a video of the slime that I made. It's called proto-plasmic slime.

My Homework

Yesterday, I had homework where we had to make a map of my bedroom. I waited until nine o'clock to do it because I wanted to do it with my Dad and I had chorister practice at church before we got to do it. So we ended up doing it at nine o'clock. I wanted to do it earlier, like at five o'clock, but we couldn't do it until nine o'clock.

This is the map of my bedroom. I used the map key down below the picture. The fan was very hard to draw.

My Favorite Weird Al Songs

It all started when Weird Al was in the paper, which was when my Dad showed me White and Nerdy on the computer. He bought me four CDs with Weird Al's music on it. I like the music because Weird Al is loco--L O C O. Eddie says that life has never been the same.

The first video is White and Nerdy.

This is White and Nerdy in LEGO version!

The third one is You're Pitiful. PS. This song is really sung by James Blunt. And he jumps four stories in this video. For real.

The fourth one is I Love Rocky Road.

This last one is Another One Rides the Bus, by Weird Al. It is hilarious!

Of all these videos, the third one, You're Pitiful, is my favorite.

"You're pitiful. You're pitiful, it's true. You smell repulsive too. You're half undressed, eatin' chips off your chest, while you're playin' Halo-2. La la la. La la la. La la la Looooser."

Our Trip to Wisconsin

Here is a picture of our pontoon boat that I made with dominoes. I wasn't able to make it so it was actually standing up, so I just made it so it was flat almost.

And then here is a picture of me standing up in the little floaty thing we pulled behind the pontoon boat.

Then here's a picture of our pontoon boat.

And then, here's a little cardboard box RV my brother and me made. It has a little bug compartment in the top, drinks in the top, me in the top, and a little bed in the top. In the bottom we have a bed, granola bars, peanuts, and a few drinks. And our Webkinz.

That's it.

Luke's Schoolwork

Scott's note: I'm cross posting this for Luke's blog. This is such a nice collection of his work.

Here is a collection of a year's worth of Luke's writing that came home from school. There are some real "Luke" gems in some of his writing. ("My [pet rats] are very pretty. But my dog isn't to pretty.")

The pages in here aren't arranged chronologically, yet it's pretty easy to tell which stuff came from the first of the year, and which stuff was later in the year. He didn't enjoy writing at the first of the year, and would only write short declarative sentences, but by the end of the year, well, he was on a roll!

The other interesting thing about his writing is that it pretty well serves as his autobiography for his seventh year!
